The Professional Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering of TECH trains engineers to apply modern manufacturing techniques such as powder bed fusion.

Powder bed fusion (PBF) is an additive manufacturing technique based on the deposition of successive layers of powdered material, which is fused with an energy source and is noted for facilitating the production of components in titanium or nickel metal alloys, it is also an option for plastic fabrication. The Professional Master’s Degree Mechanical Engineering from TECH University train to its students to produce parts with a very consistent internal structure using this modern production process.

Considering the above, within the Powder Bed Fusion, there are several technological options:

  1. Electron Beam Melting (EBM): Through this technique, the metal powder is deposited in a vacuum working chamber at temperatures around 700ºC to be melted by the action of an electron beam.
  2. Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS): In this case, selective melting of the material in successive powder layers is carried out with a laser in an inert argon chamber of the EOS M29.
  3. Selective Laser Sintering (SLS): Using an EOS P396 machine, component profiles are melted by means of a laser into desired plastic materials. This option works similarly to DMLS but instead of metal, the component base is a polymer.

Then, the manufacturing process consists of depositing a layer of powder on the work platform to be melted by the laser. After it melted, the work platform is lowered for the deposition of a new layer of powder, this process is repeated repeatedly, layer by layer, until the part is fabricated.

Professional Master’s Degree Mechanical Engineering

TECH Technological University created this master’s degree to train experts with the latest updates in the processes involved in the analysis, development, design, and manufacture of motors, mechanical systems, or machines. Also, it is important to highlight that it has an international focus and based on that of the most prestigious universities in the world and is aligns with the recommendations of professional associations such as American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

It is a one hundred percent online institution which supply the development of case studies presented by experts in Mechanical Engineering, practical exercises to perform the self-evaluation process, forums, theoretical lessons, questions to the teachers, and access to content from any device, fixed or portable, with an internet connection.

On the other hand, the topics deal in depth with mechanical engineering project management, design of mechanical elements, mechanics 4.0, cloud computing, Big Data, thermal, hydraulic, and pneumatic machines, design for reliability, safety, and environment, structures, and facilities, advanced dynamics, powder bed fusion, biomimicry, among others.

Re-Learning method

The Professional Master’s Degree Mechanical Engineering of TECH is developed entirely online. During the 12 months of training, the student has access to the program’s contents at any time and from any device, allowing them to self-manage the study time with maximum flexibility and adapt to each student’s schedule.

It has its own learning method, ‘Re-Learning’, based on asynchrony and self-management. The contents are presented in an attractive and dynamic way in multimedia capsules that include audio, videos, images, diagrams, and conceptual maps to corroborate knowledge.

TECH Technological University

TECH Technological University, the world’s largest university, is also the official online university of the NBA (National Basketball Association) in Latin America. It belongs to the TECH educational group, a Spanish-owned multinational recognized by the Financial Times as one of the 200 fastest-growing companies in Europe. The company, founded and directed by Manuel Sánchez-Cascado de Fuentes, has also been considered the most highly valued Spanish technology company in the last 15 years.

Thanks to its fully digital learning system, it supplies training to students from anywhere in the world. An international trajectory has allowed it to become a benchmark in distance learning, with a catalogue of over 10,000 programs, over 100,000 new students each year, and 500,000 graduates from over 150 countries.

Specialized highly qualified postgraduate programs, they offer their students the best training programs at an international level, being leaders in employability with 99% of their students working in the first twelve months, according to data from the consulting firm KPMG.
